Japan’s standard-grade silicon metal imports were 15,158 mt in April, up 11.2% from 13,627 mt from March, and up 5.9% from April 2012. Imports from China reached 13,858 mt, up 13% from 12,261 mt, and up 21.7% from 11,388 mt a year earlier. The standard grade imports for the first four months of 2013 were 54,914 mt, down 19.3% from 68,019 mt for the same 2012 period. The imports from China were 46,483 mt, down 14.5% from 54,374 mt.
